Registration

You must be at least 18 years old to register in Mount Royal Continuing Education & Extension courses, unless otherwise indicated in the calendar. Some courses are designed specifically for children and youth. You do not need a high school diploma to take many continuing education course, however, you must meet the requirements and prerequisites for the course(s) selected.

Register in Continuing Education or Languages/Int’l Courses

Online

If you already have a Mount Royal student ID number:

  1. Go to MyMRU
    First Time Users – Activate your account by clicking on Activate your Account.
    Registered Users – Enter your User Name and Password then click Login.
  2. Click on the Student Resources.
  3. Click on Registration and then Add/Drop Classes which will bring you to Select Term.
  4. Select the appropriate term available for Continuing Education or Languages/Int’l Ed and click Submit.                                                                                    
  5. This will bring up an Add Classes Worksheet. Enter the CRN (course registration number).
  6. If you do have the CRN number, check the print calendar, the online calendar at http://conted.mtroyal.ca or click on the Class Search button on the Add/Drop Classes page.

    Class Search: choose a subject and click Class Search.The next screen will show you the available classes for the term and subject. Choose a class and click Add to Worksheet if you want to continue searching for more classes or Register if you are finished searching.

    Note: If the course you are interested in is full, you will have the option to wait-list yourself. If space becomes available, we will make every effort to contact you.
  7. When finished registering, Submit Changes then Pay Fees by Credit Card.

    Note: All Continuing Education and Languages/Int’l course(s) require payment at the time of registration
  8. Once you have paid, please print your Schedule/Bill (student registration) as it contains important information that you will need for your class(es). It will include your name, all class(es) for the term, total fees paid, schedule, location of your class(es) and any additional information specific to your class(es). In addition, you will find the withdrawal policy and information regarding income tax receipts.

Selecting the Correct Term:
    Continuing Education Terms have a 5 digit CRN
    Languages/Int’l Ed Terms have a 4 digit CRN
           Winter Term CRN’s start with 3
           Spring Term CRN’s start with 5
           Summer Term CRN’s start with 7
           Fall Term CRN’s start with 9

 

If you do not already have a Mount Royal student ID number:

Note: MRU employees, please use this option if you have never been a Continuing Education student before

  1. Go to www.mtroyal.ca.
  2. Select Continuing Education and click the Register Now button. Click on I do not have a Mount Royal University Student ID and you will be taken directly to the admissions screen - you can also go directly to the ‘Admissions’ link on www.mtroyal.ca.
  3. Make sure that your browser allows pop-ups. Click on First time user account creation.
  4. Create a Login ID and PIN per the instructions. Click Login.
  5. Select Continuing Education for the Student Type. Click Continue.
  6. Select Create Continuing Education ID or Create a Languages ID# from the drop-down menu so you will be able to register via the web for all Continuing Education or Foreign Languages programs. Click Continue.
  7. Select the term you want to apply for and enter your name. Use upper and lower case when entering names and do not use nicknames. Click Fill Out Application.
  8. Continue to create your ID by completing the application Checklist. Begin by checking on name.
  9. a. Ensure your name is correct. Enter your previous name if applicable. Click Continue.
    b. Fill in your permanent address and phone number. Use upper and lower case when entering your address. Click Continue.
    c. Enter your business number if applicable. Click Continue.
    d. Complete the e-mail, date of birth and Canadian citizen question. Click Continue.
  10. Once all of the boxes are checked. Click Application is Complete.

    Note: You are now issued your MRU student ID number, which is your permanent ID for the College. Please record it as it will not remain on the screen for future viewing.
  11. Click on Access Web for Student to register into (a) Continuing Education or Languages/Int’l Ed class(es).
  12. Select the appropriate term available for Continuing Education or Languages/Int’l Ed. Click Submit.
  13. This will bring up an Add Classes Worksheet. Enter the CRN (course registration number).
  14. If you do have the CRN number, check the print calendar, the online calendar at http://conted.mtroyal.ca or click on the Class Search button on the Add/Drop Classes page.

    Class Search: choose a subject, click Class Search.The next screen will show you the available classes for the term and subject. Choose (a) class(es) and Add to Worksheet if you want to continue searching for more classes or Register if you are finished searching.

Please include the following information when registering:

  • Full legal name
  • Previous name if applicable
  • Date of birth
  • Address
  • Phone numbers
  • CRN (course registration number)
