Open Studies at Mount Royal University

Open Studies at Mount Royal University is designed for students who:

• need to upgrade their high school marks to gain admission to the program of their choice
• are undecided about their post-secondary goals
• have missed a university admission deadline

High School Upgrading

Open Studies students can also take Academic Upgrading courses. These non-credit, high school equivalency courses can be taken at the same time as university-level credit courses.

30-Credit Limit

Open Studies students may take a maximum of five credit courses in a semester and complete no more than 30 credits (10 courses) before being required to choose a specific program of study. There is no limit to the number of non-credit academic upgrading courses.

Keep Your Options OPEN

Take courses to determine your eventual program of study, pick up courses to meet admission requirements or work towards a professional designation. The choice is yours. Open Studies is a highly flexible way to explore your educational options.
