 Music Makers! Camp

Imagine a summer camp that gives your child (age 5 - 9) an opportunity to explore all areas of the performing arts under the direction of our stellar faculty. Aug. 6 - 10, 2013

PercussSing
Percussion Chorus
Putting together song and percussion, for ages 5 - 9. PercussSing is incredibly fun, and a perfect compliment to our Music Makers! camp. Aug. 6 - 9, 2013
Headstart Band Camp - BeginnersFor students entering a band program in the fall and includes basic instrument care, note and rhythm reading and ensemble playing. Aug. 26 - 29. 2013
Summer Theory Prep ClassAn intensive two-week theory, rudiments and ear-training course for students needing to upgrade or review theory skills for entrance to post-secondary programs. Aug. 12 - 22, 2013
Sing! Adult Summer ClassFoster the joy of singing for older adults and seniors by developing basic musical skills (rhythm, melodic memory), teaching basic vocal technique and choral skills (breathing, pitch matching, two- and three part harmony), developing a repertoire of songs, and learn the basics of reading music.

Calgary Piano Institute
 
For students in RCM Grades 4 - 9, this one week intensive program will help develop aural and reading skills, introduce history, Jass and musicianship. Aug. 6 - 10, 2013
Summer Jazz Workshop
 
Enhance the understanding and appreciation of jazz styles, practices and history. The workshop is geared for students of piano, bass, guitar, drums, trombone, trumpet and saxophone. Aug. 12 - 16, 2013 
Classical GuitarFest West
 
The program focuses on developing solo performance skills through private lessons and daily open masterclasses with some of North America's finest classical guitar teachers and performers. Aug. 12 - 17, 2013 
Blues Guitar Workshop with Ralf Buschmeyer
 
Learn from one of the city's most prominent blues guitarists; including chord construction, rhythm styles, jazz-blues concepts and sound.  Aug. 19 - 23, 2013
Tyler Hornby's Drumset Educational Camp
 
Excellent instruction to high school, college and adult level students, aspiring to enhance their abilities on the drumset. This camp provides an intensive yet fun atmosphere in a masterclass setting, allowing participants to go at their own pace. Aug. 19 - 23, 2013
Headstart Band Camp - Intermediate
 
 For students in school band, with one - two years experience. Gain confidence, skill and musicianship through our one week intensive workshop. Aug. 26 - 29, 2013 
Suzuki Summer InstituteTeachers, parents and children are immersed in an environment of listening, performing, observing and being challenged with new ideas, based on the Suzuki Method. Returns in 2014

Pender Island Flute RetreatExplore the physical, emotional and mental aspects of flute performing and pedagogy.  Jun. 15 - 22, 2013
Morningside Music BridgeAn intensive, month-long round of private lessons, masterclasses and chamber music recitals on four instrument specialties: piano, violin, viola, cello, and clarinet, with a selection of the world’s most respected performers and music educators. Jul. 3 - Aug. 2, 2013
Calgary Piano InstituteAdvanced students, (RCM Grade 10 and up) participate in masterclasses and private lessons, with choice of focus area. Aug. 6 - 10, 2013
Cowtown Opera Summer AcademyIntensive short-term studies for singing students who wish to learn more about opera, art song, stagecraft and vocal health.  Aug. 18 - 24, 2013
Suzuki Teacher Training ProgramA Suzuki Association of the America's program, which features unit courses as part of the overall Teacher Training program.  Returns in 2014
