Starting your own business is a high-risk proposition. Seven out of ten new business enterprises starting up without any kind of external help will generally fail. Before you quit your job or invest your life savings, develop and nurture the business and life skills you need in order to succeed in your new venture.
Developed and delivered by small business experts, the Entrepreneurship Certificate of Completion introduces you to the opportunities and challenges of small business owners as well as the skills and qualities needed to thrive and succeed. Have the opportunity to critically examine and evaluate the viability of your business idea, learn strategies for starting up or purchasing a small business and begin working on your business plan.
Program Notes
It is recommended that you take the courses in the order listed below and within one semester. However, you may take up to three years.
Course Materials (Required)
Building a Dream, a Canadian Guide to Starting Your Own Business, 8th Edition, plus student resource package, approx. $85+GST. Course learner manual, approx. $20+GST. Both available at the BookStore. Please purchase prior to the first class. For use throughout the program.
Earning Your Certificate of Completion
Complete the six courses (56 hours). You may also take individual courses of interest without completing the program.

Business Plan Assessment
Incorporate the business skills you have acquired through the six courses into a business plan to be assessed and critiqued by a qualified instructor. Your instructor is available to advise and assist you and can provide direction for successful completion of a business plan suitable for presentation. Move forward with confidence and a greatly increased chance of success.
