Are you interested in rejoining the work force or simply updating your computer application and bookkeeping skills? These certificate programs are designed to do just that.

Computer Skills for the Office teaches you the fundamentals of today’s most commonly used PC-based operating system (Windows), as well as the most prevalent office software package (MS Office). In Office Computer and Bookkeeping you also learn computerized bookkeeping. The Computer Skills Integration courses allow you to combine your software skills and complete in-class projects.

Requirements
To take these programs, you must be able to use a mouse and keyboard. For complete computer beginners, we suggest you take Introduction to the PC before beginning this program.

Program Notes
Register for the entire program at once using a Block Code and save on the cost of individual courses.

Register for your courses in one of these ways:

  1. Register for the whole Certificate program at once and save; use one of the Block Codes below. Office Computer and Bookkeeping Fast Track schedule, use OAC1, Regular Schedule use OAC2. Computer Skills for the Office Fast Track schedule, use CSO1, Regular Schedule use CSO2.
  2. Register in individual courses and work toward your Certificate; use the CRNs listed under each course.
  3. Register for courses on their own without earning a Certificate; use the CRNs listed under the specific course.

Earning Your Computer Skills for the Office Extension Certificate
Complete all 11 required courses (144 hours) listed in the schedule above with a minimum of 75% attendance and successful completion of all classroom assignments and exercises. (Grade will appear on official transcript as "Pass" or "Fail".

Earning Your Office Computer and Bookkeeping Extension Certificate
Complete all 15 required courses (210 hours): the 11 Computer Skills for the Office courses plus 4 additional computer accounting courses. Minimum of 75% attendance and successful completion of all classroom assignments and exercises. (Grades will appear on official transcript as "Pass" or "Fail".

Career Outlook
Up-to-date training in the most common PC-based software programs is valuable in any workplace setting. Successful completion of the Computer Skills for the Office Extension Certificate may lead to an entry-level position in an office, and successful completion of the Office Computer & Bookkeeping Extension Certificate may lead to an entry-level office position with bookkeeping responsibilities.
