Overview
This part-time certificate program is designed to help practitioners from many different backgrounds develop the competencies needed to be effective in the development, implementation, and evaluation of occupational health and safety programs and systems in a wide variety of occupational settings.

Program Notes
Courses are offered in various formats and convenient times – days, evenings and weekends – in order to meet the demands of today’s busy professionals and students. This program helps prepare candidates for registration as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) as granted by the Board of Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP), and assist Registered Occupational Hygienists maintain registration with the Canadian Registration Board of Occupational Hygienists (CRBOH) and the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH).
Requirements
High school diploma and two years of related work experience (equivalencies will be considered).
Earning Your Certificate
This program requires the completion of 329 hours: six core courses, two core electives and 35 hours of elective enrichment courses and seminars.
Career Outlook
Concern for the promotion of health and safety in the workplace is increasing among workers and employers across all industries and in society in general. Consequently, the demand for occupational health and safety professionals is also increasing.
