Provost and Vice-President, Academic
Jeffrey Goldberg, PhD, is interim Provost and Vice-President, Academic. Dr. Goldberg oversees the academic operations of the University. The portfolio includes many responsibilities that ensure academic programs remain relevant and current, and offer high-quality instruction.
Goldberg brings a nuanced understanding of institutional priorities to the Provost's office, having served as Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology at Mount Royal for five years. Under his leadership, he led the development and implementation of an ambitious five-year strategic plan centred on the undergraduate experience, development of new majors and facilitation of research success.
Goldberg’s academic career has spanned nearly four decades. A well-respected neurobiologist, he has taught and researched at the University of Alberta, Colorado State University and the University of Iowa. Prior to arriving at Mount Royal in 2011, Goldberg worked at the University of Calgary as head of the Department of Biological Sciences.
He earned a doctorate in Neurophysiology at the U of C in 1983, and a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology from McGill University in 1978.
