What does Risk Management do?

Risk Management operates by using a structured approach to identify and evaluate risks that Mount Royal University is exposed to, and then develops efficient ways to manage (control) and finance the risks. The management of risks and opportunities is a shared responsibility by all members of the University.

With any activity, there is an element of uncertainty due to Mount Royal University’s desire to be creative and innovative. The diverse needs of faculty, students, and staff also present risks, as well as new, exciting opportunities. Risk Management assists in the decision making processes that minimize potential losses while exploring those opportunities.
