Private Pilot Licence Program

Mount Royal Aviation is committed to student success and the provision of exceptional flight training. The PPL program has been restructured to meet the needs primarily of students interested in pursuing further flight training following the completion of a private licence. Our instructional staff will focus on ensuring that students work through the program at a dedicated pace designed to ensure they meet the entrance requirements for our Commercial Pilot's Program in September of 2013.

Our program has an experienced team of flight instructors who love to help students learn to fly. Both our ground school and flight training programs meet and exceed the Transport Canada minimum requirements. Our students train in new Cessna 172 aircraft with technologically advanced glass cockpits. New to the Private Pilot Licence program is the incorporation of our flight training simulator, the ALSIM ALX, with 10 foot-high, 208-degree panoramic screens. The program is designed to ensure that our students safely achieve a level of excellence in training to meet the high levels of proficiency required by the industry and to prepare them for success in further flight training.

Ground school classes include Air Law, Meteorology, Navigation, Engines and Systems, as well as human factors and pilot decision making. Classes run April to June.
