The course provides the learner with opportunities to master psychopharmacology. Students will examine the neurobiology of the brain systems with which psychotropic drugs interact. The course offers an in-depth review of chemical neurotransmission as a mediator of disease action; and explores how drugs interact with the body and the brain across the life-span related to pharmacokinetics (how drugs are handled by the body) and pharmodynamics (how drugs act).
