MUSC 2201 – Introduction to Music History

(3 credits – TG) 3 hours lecture

This course is an overview of the history of western art music, by means of listening and analysis, from its beginnings in Medieval Europe to the present day. It includes units on the music of the Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and 20th Century eras (including significant pop/jazz developments).
