Early Childhood Kodaly Musicianship

Anne Rodger holds a Bachelor of Music and a graduate Fine Arts Diploma (Kodaly) from U of C. She also has an Alberta Teaching Certificate and is an Associate of the Royal Conservatory of Toronto (Piano Performance).

She has recently retired from a satisfying teaching career with Calgary Board of Education, the last 15 years of which were spent establishing  a Kodaly-based K-6 music program at Hawkwood School. As part of her work as a Music Specialist, she also directed children’s choirs of up to 120 voices, and taught handbell choirs. She also worked with the Calgary Boys Choir Young Singers for 2 years.

Anne is presently a member of the Calgary Philharmonic Chorus, where she enjoys singing under the direction of Timothy Shantz. She believes learning through singing is a lifelong pleasure, and is delighted to be making music with young children at the Conservatory.
