Wyatt Artist in Residence Program & Concert SeriesResidency Program
In music, as in other disciplines, artists often point to an educational encounter or inspirational performance with a great artist as one of the reasons for their decision to commit professionally to a life in the performing arts.
The Wyatt Artist in Residence program provides just such an opportunity for the gifted young musicians in Mount Royal Conservatory’s Academy program. Each artist in residence spends time at the Conservatory teaching public masterclasses, as well as providing private instruction and informal performances with Academy students.

Concert Series
At the end of their residency, each artist gives a very special concert in the intimate setting of Mount Royal University’s Leacock Theatre. With only 300 seats available, the Wyatt Artist in Residence Concert Series is an unparalleled opportunity for Calgary audiences to see and hear masters of the classical world up close and personal.
From Anton Kuerti and Jon Kimura Parker to Mark O’Connor and James Ehnes, the Wyatt Artist in Residence Concert Series has hosted some of the finest musicians in the world.
The Wyatt Artist in Residence Program and Concert Series honours Hal Wyatt and his late wife, Marnie, long-time friends and supporters of the Mount Royal Conservatory. The program is a considerable addition to Calgary’s rich artistic scene – closing the loop between emerging talent and the great artists of our time.
