This year’s virtual Career Expo takes place from Jan. 25 to 27. Registration for this free event is available until Jan. 25. Encourage students to sign up to meet directly with employers looking to hire at the signature Career Fair. Faculty and staff are also welcome to register and attend. Keep moving with Cougars Athletics and Recreation

The Keep Moving virtual fitness challenge provides free access to 29 on-demand virtual fitness videos from campus recreation providers across Canada. Join a live 20-minute movement break as well as a roundtable discussion with our fitness supervisor and members of the peer ambassador team every week. A leaderboard has been set up to record active minutes and to enter to win prizes.

Student Practicum Clinic reopens for winter semester
The on-campus MRU Student Practicum clinic is accepting appointments for massage therapy treatments. The $20 fee for one-hour treatments supports student scholarships. Visit mru.ca/BookAMassage to book and for more information, including COVID-19 protocols.

Wireless hotspots now available for students
Students can now borrow wireless hotspots from the MRU Library to keep their Wi-Fi enabled devices connected at all times. Hotspots can be borrowed for up to three weeks and picked up through the contactless pick-up process. Submit a request.

Institutional Research and Planning’s MRU 2018 Graduating Survey reported that 79 per cent of the 2017/18 Mount Royal alumni were working in a position related to the program from which they graduated within a year of completion.

Cougars surpass previous MRU U Sports Academic All-Canadian record
The Mount Royal Cougars have the highest percentage of Academic All-Canadians on their rosters in the Canada West conference, with 44.7 per cent of all student-athletes maintaining a 3.4 or higher GPA while enrolled as a full-time student. This also places Mount Royal in the top 10 of all U Sports schools across the country. Read more.

Start of semester emails, with option for distribution list sign-up

As each semester begins (August/September and December/January), areas with ongoing employee activities can send an email to all employees describing their semester activities. Employees can then choose to opt in to that area's distribution list (Google Group) for regular updates. If you would like to send an email and/or set up a Google Group for your area, please contact Marketing and Communications for guidelines.
