New students in University Entrance Option

Shortly after you accepted your offer for UEO, you would have received an email with the subject “Mount Royal University - new UEO student advising”. This email includes a link to your UEO Advising Guide, which details admission information and course recommendations based on your goal program.

Once you've reviewed your UEO Advising Guide and the UEO FAQ, if you still have additional questions, you may wish to attend a University Entrance Option New Student Information and Registration session. These sessions are posted monthly. The sessions include a presentation from an Academic Advisor about how to plan for the upcoming academic year and a presentation from a Registration Peer that will help you understand MRU's registration system and tools.

New students in Open Studies or wishing to switch programs

You are encouraged to book an Open Studies/Program Switch New Student Information and Registration session. These sessions are posted monthly. The sessions include a presentation from an Academic Advisor about how to plan for the upcoming academic year and a presentation from a Registration Peer that will help you understand MRU's registration system and tools.

Continuing students in Academic Upgrading, Open Studies, University Entrance Option, or wishing to switch programs

You may book a 30-minute advising appointment through the links below. Appointments are available up to one week in advance. You may choose to meet with the same advisor each time you come, but this is not required. If you are flexible about which advisor you meet with, you can check each calendar for the most convenient time.

Academic Advising also offers drop-in advising most days in case you are having trouble scheduling an appointment. To access drop-in advising, come by D101 or call our office at 403-440-6222.

Registration support

If you have connected with Academic Advising and are clear on your admission plan and which classes you should take, but need help creating your class schedule and navigating the registration system, you can meet with a Registration Peer. Registration Peers are experienced MRU students that will show you how to use the various MRU registration-related systems, including MyMRU, the Registration Landing Page, My Schedule Builder, program planning guides, the MRU website, and more.

Please note that the Registration Peer is unable to answer any advising-related questions, including how many courses to take, which courses to take, or how to meet admission requirements. This appointment is solely for support with navigating the registration system.
