OVERVIEW
This Policy is established to define the guiding principles for the public disclosure of the Chair of
the Board of Governors and Senior Executive expenses.
B.
PURPOSE
The purpose of this Policy is to improve accountability and transparency; and, establish
parameters for the disclosure of expense information.
C.
SCOPE
This Policy applies to Expenses incurred by individuals in the course of fulfilling the
responsibilities of the positions or offices listed in section D.1.
This Policy does not apply to costs incurred by an individual on behalf of a University team or
organizational unit.
This Policy also does not apply to costs incurred by an individual when the costs are reimbursed
by a third party.

POLICY STATEMENT
1.
GENERAL
1.1
The approved Expenses of the following individuals will be publicly disclosed:
President, Vice-Presidents, and Chair of the Board of Governors.
1.2
The public disclosure of Expenses will include the following supporting
information: name and position of the individual who incurred Expenses; date
Expenses were incurred; amount of Expenses, and description of Expenses.
1.3
Information that would normally be withheld under FOIP will be redacted prior to
the public disclosure of Expenses.

1.4
A summary of expenses will be available on the University's website on a
periodic basis. Supporting receipts are disclosed through the routine disclosure
process upon request through the FOIP office (foip@mtroyal.ca).

Board:
means the he Board of Governors of Mount Royal University

Expenses:
Costs that are within the scope of the Travel and Expense
Reimbursement Policy, the Hosting Expense Policy and that
are incurred by individuals in the course of fulfilling the
responsibilities of the position or offices listed in section D.1.
