POLICY STATEMENT

POINT FACTOR CLASSIFICATION PLAN
1.1
Most approved support staff positions in Mount Royal University will be evaluated
according to the Point Factor Classification Plan by members of the Point Factor
Classification Committee.
1.2
The Point Factor Classification Plan evaluates positions according to the
following weighted factors:
• Complexity and creativity
• Accountability
• Supervisory responsibility
• Environmental working conditions
• Education
• Physical and visual demands
• Decision-making impact
• Contacts
• Work pressure and stress
• Experience

JOB EVALUATION COMMITTEE
The Job Evaluation Committee is comprised of a Human Resources Consultant, the
Associate Vice-President, Human Resources or their designate, a minimum of two (2)
support staff members as designated by the Mount Royal Staff Association, and a
minimum of six (6) management representatives appointed by the Associate Vice-
President, Human Resources, and representing a cross section of University
departments. Typically, five (5) members of the Committee will evaluate a position
description.
