The Centre for Community Disaster Research at Mount Royal University is a trans-disciplinary centre for research, education, and outreach related to disasters, crises, catastrophes, and pandemics. Our work focuses on social, environmental, economic, biological, medical, and technological disasters. The CCDR is mandated with promoting rigorous academic research that is led by community need and involves university researchers, undergraduate/graduate students, government stakeholders, policy-makers, community organizations, and knowledge end-users.

The CCDR is undertaking a number of pathbreaking projects including research initiatives, innovative courses and curriculum, policy development, and outreach activities. From crisis communication to family coping strategies, to business continuity in a post-disaster environment, our Faculty Affiliates and Partners are advancing the field in numerous ways.
