Anita Liu
Anita is a native Calgarian who began her Speech Arts and Drama studies at the Mount Royal University Conservatory at the age of 7. She completed her Speech and Drama Performer’s ARCT through the Royal Conservatory of Music in 1999, and went on to receive her Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics at the University of British Columbia. Her love of learning and for teaching children spurred her to continue her studies. In 2005, she received her Bachelor of Education, specializing in Elementary Education.
Anita taught with the Calgary Board of Education as a French Language specialist for several years, followed by a decade of teaching in early elementary settings. She currently runs two small businesses that focus on early childhood development, play, and education.
Anita has been a part of the Speech Arts and Drama faculty at Mount Royal University Conservatory since 2007 and maintains an active private studio. She has taught creative drama, readers theatre and choral speech classes for young children, specializing in the Conservatory’s Rhymes and Rhythms and Act Up Speak Out programs. Aside from adjudicating across Alberta, Anita has been a regular adjudicator at Presentation MRU, a non-competitive speech and drama festival held at the Mount Royal University Conservatory.
