Guitar Faculty, Beginner Guitar Instructor (Group Class)

Greg Rumpel has been playing the guitar and the accordion for many years. He graduated from the Mount Royal University Music Performance Diploma Program in 1997 with a focus on jazz guitar. Greg has taught guitar since 1993 and joined The Conservatory to teach popular style guitar in 1998. In addition, Greg has been teaching the Adult Beginner Guitar Group Classes at MRU since 2013 and the recently added Accordion Group Class.

As well as teaching at MRU, Greg has taught at FAMI (Foothills Acoustic Music Institute) music camps since 2015 as both a guitar and accordion instructor.

In addition to teaching, Greg performs regularly as a solo performer and in various groups. As a solo performer he plays both accordion and guitar for many senior groups in and around Calgary. The music groups that Greg performs with have a wide variety of musical styles and many have an ethnic theme.
