Update on President's Advisory Committee on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
The committee met frequently throughout the fall to affirm MRU’s commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI); to disrupt racism; and, to advocate for systemic change (at MRU and in the community). Cougars Campus Store will open Jan. 4, 2021
Beginning Jan. 4, 2021, the Cougars Campus Store will be open for in-person shopping by appointment only. On-campus pick up by appointment and additional shipping options continue to be available and students are encouraged to order textbooks online early. All appointments will be limited based on Government of Alberta capacity restrictions. Visit the Campus Store’s Remote Services & Supports page for details about in-person shopping, on-campus pick up, returns, OneCard, textbooks and more.

Bleed Blue – Celebrating MRU

Champions in the classroom: Cougars Academic All-Canadians recognized
Seventy-six of Mount Royal’s student-athletes received U Sports Academic All-Canadian status for the 2019/2020 season, breaking the record set the previous year of 74. Members of Cougars teams must maintain a 3.4 GPA or higher to obtain this honour, and, notably, these top performers make up more than 40 per cent of all student-athletes at MRU. Women's soccer had the most players recognized with a total of 18 (three-quarters of their roster), however leading by percentage was women's volleyball, with 14 of their 17 members named as an Academic All-Canadian. Day receives alumni distinction
Trevor Day, PhD, professor in the Department of Biology has been chosen as the recipient of the University of Calgary’s Cumming School of Medicine Alumni of Distinction Award “in recognition of outstanding contributions to education.” A celebration is scheduled for May. Day was also recently elected to the College of New Scholars, Scientists and Artists by the Royal Society of Canada.
