Session Dates
Tech LiftOff 2024 will begin on October 22nd and run for 8 months, applications are open until October 6th, 2024 at midnight.
There will be a mandatory information session for all applicants who wish to be considered for the program on October 1st, 2024 at 4PM in the Slate Innovation Lab.
Program Requirements
- Tech LiftOff is open to Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of Computer Information Systems, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Bachelor of Data Science and Information Design students. Only 18 participants will be admitted.
- Participants must complete the 8-month program to receive the funding
- Participants must attend all in-person and mentoring sessions to receive the funding.
The Fall 2024 applications have closed. 2025/2026 applications will open in 2025.
How Do I Apply? |

Program Manager
Diana is a graduate of Mount Royal's General Management program (2017), a former founder (Unravelled Yarns), LaunchPad alumna, and an experienced mentor. She is passionate about entrepreneurship, volunteering, social innovation, technology, and supporting female-identifying innovators and entrepreneurs, particularly in creative disciplines. Diana brings 12 years of experience in entrepreneurship, finance, and energy to her role. She is always available for a conversation, whether about an emerging idea, innovation, a new venture, or finding your next steps. |

Students who apply and participate in our programs see a significant increase in their personal and professional growth. By participating in our program, you'll be exposed to new ways of thinking and business concepts that aren’t taught in a classroom, which can be instrumental in shaping your future endeavours. To qualify, you must be a full-time or part-time MRU student enrolled in a degree or transfer program with good academic standing. Unfortunately, open studies students are ineligible for our programming. However, we welcome you to join our community events and benefit from our mentoring and coaching services, extended to students campus-wide.
We are happy to accept applications from individuals or teams, but will not guarantee you will end up working with your team or on the idea you entered with. Part of the innovation process is about rapidly evaluating and rejecting solutions and ideas, and this program will progress quickly.
This is not an internship; rather, it's a transformative work-integrated learning experience where you'll collaborate closely with your problem mentor and their business, collectively tackling a business challenge. This opportunity allows you to enrich your resume with invaluable hands-on experience, positioning you strongly for future internships or post-graduation positions.
