Domestic applicants
Mount Royal University is part of the Alberta Post-secondary Application System (Apply Alberta).
Use Apply Alberta if you:
- are a Canadian citizen, or a permanent resident of Canada
- are new to MRU
- are returning to MRU beyond the allowable absence
- have already applied for admission for an upcoming semester through Apply Alberta but want to change your program
International applicants
Use the International Application System if you:
- are an international student, temporary resident (with a study permit, work permit or visitor visa), refugee or living in Canada but do not have permanent resident status
- are new to MRU
- are returning to MRU beyond the allowable absence
- have already applied for admission for an upcoming semester using the International Application System but want to change your program
Current MRU Students
Use this option if you are a current MRU student applying to another program.
You will be prompted to login using your current MRU username and password.

Learn English for Academic Purposes (LEAP) Program
Use this option if you are applying for Mount Royal's LEAP program to develop your academic and career language skills and/or begin on the path to meet Mount Royal's English Language Proficiency admission requirement.

Indigenous University Bridging Program
Use this option if you are an Indigenous student applying for Mount Royal's Indigenous University Bridging Program (IUBP) to prepare for university by combining academic upgrading and first year university courses with Indigenous cultural support.

If you are applying to the Funeral Service Education, Personal Fitness Trainer or Massage Therapy programs, choose one of the following options:
- Option #1 – Apply Alberta: For domestic applicants
- Option #2 – International Admissions System: For international applicants
- Option #3 – Current MRU Students: For current Mount Royal University students

Re-activation following an absence from Mount Royal University
Students who have interrupted their studies but are still within the allowable absence are not required to re-apply for admission provided you are returning to the same program. Learn more about how to re-activate your student status.
