Student Counselling Services
Types of counselling we offer
- Personal counselling: Personal counselling provides support for a wide range of concerns that impact your well-being, academic performance and development. These may include stress, anxiety, feeling low, loneliness, relationship concerns, addictions and more.
- Career counselling: Career counselling provides assistance in finding your career passion and choosing a major. We help you to evaluate your life and career interests while taking into consideration other factors such as aptitudes, motivations and personal circumstances.
- Educational counselling: Educational counselling provides information and assistance to address obstacles that challenge academic performance. We also provide guidance on how best to balance well-being with school demands.
Student Counselling Services offers walk-in counselling services Monday to Friday afternoons for students seeking same-day support. We begin booking appointments at the Student Counselling Services reception desk starting at 12:45 pm (Wellness Services U216). The last walk-in appointment is booked by 3:15 pm. If you are not able to get to the front desk at 12:45 pm, please call 403-440-6362 to ask if any sessions are available. We will respond to your phone call as soon as we are able.
Please note that walk-in sessions are typically shorter than a regular appointment (lasting approximately 30 minutes), and are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Although we create the walk-in schedule with an eye on anticipated need, availability may vary due to circumstances outside of our control. Thank you for your patience as we serve students as best we can.
