Accessible Parking Permits

Accessible Parking Permits are available for purchase in person at Parking & Transportation Services, K105. 403-440-8797. They are open Monday through Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm: and closed weekends and statutory holidays.

  1. Purchase of permanent accessible parking permit requires
    • Valid photo ID
    • Alberta Registration Certificate for your Disabled Placard or
    • Alberta accessible placard

  2. Purchase of a short-term accessible parking permit requires
    • Valid photo ID
    • Medical professional’s (Doctor, Physiotherapist, Nurse Practitioner, Chiropractor, etc.) note indicating the length of time expected to recover, issued within the previous 3 months.

An applicable MRU accessible placard to complement the accessible parking permit will be issued. It must be displayed from the rear-view mirror and visible outside the vehicle.  The MRU placard is valid on MRU campus and for the time period specified.

Individuals qualifying for an Accessible Permit will be granted access, through Hotspot, to purchase accessible daily parking at a discounted rate.

Accessible parking permits allow the vehicle to be parked in any MRU accessible identified stall with the exception of the RMCCL and RLLC parkades.

Government issued Accessible Parking Placards are recognized throughout campus in all accessible stalls. 

Accessible placards which are not on full display or expired will be subject to violation and/or tow.

Parking fees apply to all accessible stalls.
