At Mount Royal, we recognize that people are individuals. One size does not fit all. That is why we offer a variety of programs so you can discover the one that suits you best.
We offer 37 majors through 13 bachelor's degrees, and other programs such as diplomas, post-graduate certificates, and even hundreds of continuing education courses.
Types of programs
Bachelor’s degrees
- four-year, academic program
- Students take:
- courses specific to the degree topic
- general education courses
- electives
- may include work experience and hands-on learning such as:
- co-operative education opportunities
- work terms
- practica
- internships
- After graduation, allows students to:
- join the workforce
- pursue graduate or professional studies
Diplomas
- two-year program
- career-focused
- learn concepts in the classroom and through hands-on work
- prepares you for a specific field or industry
- build skills to succeed in a degree program at Mount Royal or another institution
Certificates
- one-year program
- use to upgrade your skills or start a new career path
- flexible option
- direct entry and post-bachelor's certificates available
Alternative Entrance Options
Allows students to:
- complete missing courses
- boost existing grades
- improve your competitive average
- develop English language proficiency
- try out a few courses before committing to a degree or diploma
Education enhancements
Community Service Learning (CSL)
- complete hands-on experiences in your classes
- impact communities locally and globally
- requires:
- three classes (minimum of nine credits)
- at least 20 hours of service
- available in courses related to many different topics
Concentrations
- required or optional
- available in some bachelor's degrees
- include six to 10 courses
- enhances your focus on a specific area of study
Honours stream
- available in some bachelor's degrees
- build skills to succeed in professional and graduate studies including:
- independent learning
- research
- problem solving
- critical thinking
- communication skills
Minors
- study topics outside of your major
- over 60 minors covering many topics
- grain skills that may help with future employment or graduate studies
Work integrated learning (WIL)
