Eligibility for the Career Accelerator program is as follows:
- You must be an MRU (Mount Royal University) student who is in your final semester of study. This indicates that you're nearing the completion of your academic program and preparing to transition into the professional world.
- Recent graduates of MRU are also eligible to participate. This includes individuals who have completed their studies and obtained their degrees but are still in the early stages of their career development.
If you fall into one of these categories, you're encouraged to register for the program to enhance your professional skills and network as you embark on or advance in your career journey.
To apply for the Career Accelerator program, you need to complete the following steps:
- Fill out the registration form provided by the program. This form will likely ask for your personal details, academic information, and possibly your reasons for wanting to join the program.
- Wait for acceptance into the program. After reviewing your application, the program coordinators will inform you if you have been accepted.
- Once accepted, you will be required to submit a program fee of $188, which includes GST. The payment details and methods will be provided by the program administrators.
The Career Accelerator program includes two main types of workshops that you are required to attend:
- Industry Insight Sessions: In these sessions, you will engage in conversations with the Partner Engagement Coordinator and employers. The purpose is to provide you with a deeper understanding of the hiring process, current market trends, and strategies to successfully enter a specific industry. These insights are invaluable for understanding what employers are looking for and how you can align your skills and experiences with industry expectations.
- Career Building Workshops: These workshops are designed to equip you with essential skills and knowledge for building and enhancing your career. Key topics include Your Ultimate LinkedIn, Networking, Tackle Tough Conversations, Your Value and Compensation, etc. You can learn more about these workshops here.
