Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society
The Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS) is a leading animal welfare organization in Alberta built on a foundation of compassion and kindness. Our values are embodied by our hard-working staff, dedicated volunteers, loving foster homes and generous supporters. Our goals are to help homeless animals in communities across Alberta, and to provide community support programs to address the root causes of animal overpopulation and homelessness.
Alberta Network of Immigrant Women
Registered as a not-for-profit in 1986 under the Alberta Society's Act. The organization's vision and mandate is for immigrant women to reach their potential. The underlying principles for all programs are;
Immigrant women impacted by the societal issues that impact their lives in Alberta, Canada, are empowered to address those issues.

Alberta Sports and Recreation Association for the Blind
ASRAB was established in 1975 to support visually impaired athletes of all ages and to enhance their quality of life through an active lifestyle. ASRAB programs have grown to include the direct provision or facilitation of coaching and training opportunities for all levels of participation, including competitive and recreational sports programs and physical activity programs. ASRAB is in a unique position to assist recreation and sport-based organizations to adapt and modify their programs to include the blind and visually impaired.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Calgary and Area
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Calgary and Area (BBBS) empowers mentoring relationships for children and youth in Calgary, Airdrie, . BBBS ensures that young people facing adversity have the supportive relationships they need to become resilient and realize their full potential.
Our agency staff members are experts at recruiting and screening volunteers; making intentional, meaningful matches; and providing the support necessary for mentoring relationships to have a lasting impact. Last year alone, our qualified staff created and empowered more than 815 mentoring matches for children and youth.
At the core of this impact are the more than 780 dedicated volunteers who gave over 43,736 hours last year to young people in our communities in need of additional supportive relationships.
Between Friends
Between Friends provides Social & Recreational Programming and Inclusion Services that give people with disabilities of all ages the opportunity to experience fun and enriching activities in the community. Participants feel included, happy, and safe in an environment where they can build genuine friendships and be themselves without fear of judgement or bullying.
Buds in Bloom
Our Mission: Together, co-creating a world where every child and family are given a chance to bloom today. Our Vision: We envision a world where all neurodiverse children and their families are connected to community support resources that they need in health, education, social services, sports, leisure, recreation, and financial programs, when they need them.
Calgary Communities Against Sexual Abuse Society (CASA)
Calgary Communities Against Sexual Abuse (CCASA) is the primary sexual harassment, sexual abuse and sexual assault crisis, counselling and education service provider for Calgary and the surrounding areas.
We exist to support, inform, educate, and empower. We are a leader in the field of sexual violence.
For over 25 years, CCASA has built a strong foundation and network of services to support communities in addressing sexual violence and the resulting myriad of complex issues for individuals, families and communities. We strive to enhance the health and well-being of all people and our broader community through responsible and effective programs in sexual harassment, sexual abuse and sexual assault services.
Calgary Youth Justice Society
We connect adult volunteers in a positive way with young people who are facing challenges in their lives, some who are already involved with the criminal justice system. Our approach is always strength focused, seeing beyond what's wrong to nurture what's strong. Our impact is young people who feel valued and supported to be a part of our community in a meaningful way.
Every day, we witness young people gain confidence and hope for a brighter future when their strengths are recognized and invested in. Since 1996 the Calgary Youth Justice Society has helped youth find what is strong in their lives through programs proven to build resilience, reduce risk and nurture community connections.
CADS Calgary
CADS Calgary is a volunteer based non-profit charity that provides opportunities for people with disabilities to experience the joy of learning, participating and competing in alpine Snowsports. CADS Calgary is recognized as being the largest single location CADS program in Canada with 150-200 students each year.
Our aim is to create a safe, inclusive and fun learning environment. More than just sliding, our participants learn tangible life skills, gain confidence, and develop life long friendships!
Participants receive one on one, needs-based instruction from trained volunteers. In order to facilitate a great experience for all of our participants and volunteers, CADS invests in instructor training, as well as the research and development of adaptive equipment and teaching methodology.
CADS also hosts an annual Festival at various Canadian ski resorts. Top CADS instructors from across the country provide daily lessons for participants of all skill levels, while social functions and an awards banquet add to the sense of camaraderie.
CPAWS, Southern Alberta
CPAWS Southern Alberta is a non-profit conservation organization dedicated to promoting thriving, healthy, and diverse lands and waters in Alberta. Since 1967, they've led conservation efforts to protect areas in Banff National Park, Kananaskis, the Whaleback, and the Castle. Our commitment extends beyond preservation; we are also leaders in environmental education, fostering the next generation of environmental stewards. By safeguarding ecosystems, they ensure clean water, community support, economic benefits, and recreational enjoyment. When nature thrives, we all thrive!

We deliver innovative programs and powerful advocacy that empower people impacted by blindness to live their dreams and tear down barriers to inclusion. Our work as a blind foundation is powered by a network of volunteers, donors and partners from coast to coast to coast.

Decidedly Jazz Danceworks
Decidedly Jazz Danceworks is a home for jazz dance to live and thrive. We are a registered charity based in Calgary, who aim to contribute meaningfully to the future of jazz dance and the communities that support us. The DJD Dance Centre offers performances, training, outreach, rehearsal, creation and social space for all who enter. The centre has been designed to inspire creativity for the users within and to be a source of creative energy for Calgay's inner-city districts. DJD is Calgary's largest recreational dance school. Additionally, we host a professional jazz dance company.
Deaf & Hear Alberta
Deaf & Hear Alberta is a charitable non-profit organization. We are dedicated to addressing the accessibility, advocacy, education and communication needs of the Deaf, deafened, and Hard of Hearing populations of Alberta. With our head office in Calgary, Alberta and a second office in Edmonton, we excel at communication access through interpreting; consultation, assessments and providing the latest in assistive equipment; training and education for hearing loss prevention and management; and improving public awareness and understanding.
Distress Centre Calgary
Distress Centre Calgary provides 24-hour crisis support, professional counselling, youth peer support, and navigation and referrals through 211, and resources for those experiencing homelessness through Coordinated Entry. Our mission is to provide compassionate, accessible crisis and navigation support that enhances the health, well-being and resiliency of individuals in distress. Our vision is to ensure everyone is heard.
Elevate Aviation
Elevate Aviation is a not-for-profit organization founded In Edmonton, AB, in 2015. Research and polls conducted across Canada have shown that there is a significant lack of diversity and a large gender gap among several key careers in the aviation industry.
For example:
Less than 4% of commercial pilots are women
Less than 3% of Aircraft Maintenance Engineers are women
Only 17% of Air Traffic Controllers are women.
This gap not only denies women options for economic security, but it has also been identified as a cause of the severe labour shortage the aviation industry is facing. So, what are we doing about it? We introduce women and underrepresented groups from all age ranges to careers in aviation through our many programs provided across Canada, including:

Highbanks Society
Unsupported young mothers and children are especially vulnerable to the cycle of poverty and homelessness. For these mother-led families who face incredible uncertainty, Highbanks offers them hope by providing a safe home, an opportunity for education, and the critical support needed to overcome their challenges and become thriving members of our community. By providing hope, we empower women to be their best selves and create a brighter future for them and their children. Our goal is for these young moms to leave Highbanks as educated, resilient, confident & self-sufficient parents raising healthy, happy children.
Hospice Calgary
Hospice Calgary is one organization with three centres of care. It is our mission to help people find hope and well-being through the provision of compassionate support and exceptional care during advanced illness, end-of-life, and grief.
Hull Services - Mentors Matter Program
Mentors Matter matches volunteers to young people who are accessing one of Hull Services' programs or services. Volunteers may be matched in a group setting on Hull's main campus or one-on-one in the community. Caring and supportive relationships are essential to a young person's development and well-being. At Hull Services, mentors are an integral part of our holistic approach to treatment and care.
JA Southern Alberta
Junior Achievement is a non-profit organization that delivers free, school-age programs to teachers and students from grades K-12. Our programs cover the topics of financial literacy,entrepreneurship, and work readiness.
JA Southern Alberta charter was established in 1960 and continues to be a leader in educating youth in the financial and business sectors. Last year we reached over 30,000 students in the Calgary area alone. It takes over 1,800 volunteers to get our programs into southern Alberta schools, and demand is growing!
JFSC
JFSC is a non-denominational, accredited, non-profit social service agency dedicated to enriching lives and strengthening communities since 1961. We provide inclusive and accessible programs and services for individuals and families across their life spans, based on the values of compassion, social justice and improving the world.
Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta
Kids Cancer Care offers wrap-around services for the whole family at each stage of the cancer journey, from diagnosis through treatment and beyond. Whether it's camp, therapeutic exercise, tutoring, child life, or counselling services, our programs are designed to address the complex treatment-related side effects of childhood cancer. We offer our year-round programs and services at no cost to families.

Samaritan's Purse is a Christian international relief organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Scouts Canada
Scouts Canada is the country's leading co-ed youth organization, offering programming for children and youth aged 5-26. Shelter Movers Calgary
Shelter Movers is a national, volunteer-powered charitable organization providing moving and storage services at no cost to individuals and families fleeing abuse. We collaborate with local businesses and community agencies to support people, primarily women and children, as they transition to a life free of violence.
Established in September 2023, Shelter Movers Calgary is made up of a growing team of dedicated volunteers helping to ensure an immediate and lasting impact on survivors of gender-based violence in the Calgary, Alberta area. Shelter Movers Calgary offers its services to the local communities through our referral partners, Rowan House Society (High River), FearIsNotLove (Calgary), and Nisa Homes Calgary.

Since 1985, STARS provided people the care they need when they need it the most. STARS exists to provide a safe, rapid, highly specialized emergency transport system for the critically injured. Whether it's offering hands-on training to rural medical providers or providing rapid, emergency medical transportation for the critically ill and injured, we work to anticipate and act when people need our help
TELUS Spark Science Centre
TELUS Spark Science Centre (Spark), a registered educational charity, exists to entertain and inspire people of all ages through creative encounters with science, engineering, technology, math and art. Spark exists to lift people up with the power of curiosity through creative encounters with science!
Calgary's science centre is a pioneer in science entertainment and programming, with roots dating back to 1967. Home to one of Western Canada's largest dome theatre, the Digital Immersion Gallery, VR experiences, and innovative spaces like Steven's Lab, where interactive experiments unfold before your eyes. From the robot-dog Flint to Canada's first robot-coa5ter, R05iE, and a 15-acre park surrounding the science of the developing brain, Spark is a hub for creative encounters.
The Brenda Strafford Foundation
Mission Statement BSF
As a charitable organization we are an innovative force, providing high quality person-centred care and services to optimize well-being and enrich people's lives.
The Brenda Strafford Foundation (BSF) was established in 1975 by Dr. Barrie I. Strafford in memory of his late wife, Brenda. Since then, it has grown to operate and support many local and international programs and services including a focus on research and innovation to support the populations we serve. Locally in Alberta, BSF owns and operates five continuing care communities for seniors in Calgary and Okotoks. The foundation also provides local community programs including BSF's 'Heart Home Network' - a second stage shelter providing a safe environment and services for women and children who are fleeing domestic violence. Internationally, BSF owns a variety of medical clinics and provides various healthcare services in Haiti, Jamaica, and Dominica to enhance the health, wellness, and quality of life of underserved regions in the Caribbean. All of BSF's diverse activities are guided by a common philosophy: The preservation of dignity and the pursuit of happiness.
The Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth
The Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth (CBFY) support newcomer youth struggling to integrate into their schools and communities through in-school and after-school programs, workshops, field trips, and hands-on activities. Committed to "Championing the journey of newcomer children and youth," CBFY addresses challenges like loneliness, exclusion, racism, and bullying that can affect self-identity and self-esteem. We educate youth on Canadian culture, adaptability, anti-bullying, self-empowerment, healthy relationships, and community engagement. Additionally, we offer academic support, guidance on finding work and building workplace skills, and a course that pairs university students with high school youth to help them understand post-secondary requirements.

Young Life of Canada
Young Life's mission is to go into the lives of teenagers, earning the right to be heard. Volunteers and Staff invest in the lives of teens and provide a space for them to learn about Jesus in an environment that is safe and pressure free. Any and every teen is welcome at Young Life. We strive to create a safe place for teens to be themselves and learn about life and faith with their peers.
YMCA Calgary
YMCA Calgary is a charity that ignites the potential in Calgarians. Since our inception in 1902, we have evolved into a vibrant organization operating in every quadrant of the city.
