Assistant Professor 

Raaj Chandran has 20 years of communication, public relations, advertising and marketing experience in Canada, the United States and Singapore with exposure to 17 countries across Europe, Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
 
In his professional career, he has served as communication leader for Europe and Asia for a global environmental engineering firm, director of communications for a national nonprofit in Washington, D.C., corporate communications manager for an American luxury retailer in the Middle East, and communication manager for a natural resources research agency in Florida. He has consulted with clients in contract electronics manufacturing, environmental engineering, engineered power pumps, technology incubation, real estate, adventure sports and tourism, and higher education. Presently, he is executive director and senior consultant for Verafluenti Inc. while also serving on the board of directors of Community Planning Social Council of Victoria.
 
In addition to Mount Royal University, he has taught at National University of Singapore, Royal Roads University in Canada, and Purdue University and University of Colorado in the United States. He has published two books: Sensible Corporate Practices for Better Relations and Dancing with Erato.

His primary research interests include Corporate Social Responsibility, and applying Indigenous wisdom and non-Western postcolonial approaches to public relations.

Environmental preservation, compassion to animals, affordable and well-rounded education, human rights, creation of ethical tolerant and vibrant work cultures, and intercultural harmony are some causes close to his heart.

Raaj holds an MBA specializing in advertising from Ohio State University, an MA in Mass Communication (MAMC) specializing in public relations from University of Florida, and is ABD (All But Dissertation) toward a PhD in strategic communication at University of Colorado.
