
Jamie Anne Vaughan
Assistant Professor, Business and Communications
Jamie Anne Vaughan is a communications and marketing consultant, entrepreneur, and educator, with over a decade of experience in the corporate and agency sectors. She joined Mount Royal University in 2021 as a sessional instructor in the Department of Public Relations and, in 2025, transitioned to an assistant professor role, cross-appointed to both the Bissett School of Business and the School of Communication Studies. She holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Film & Media from Queen's University and an MBA with a specialization in Leadership from Dalhousie University.
As the founder and principal of Westwood Strategies, a communications and marketing consultancy, Jamie has worked with clients across diverse industries, including energy, technology, retail, agriculture, finance, and wellness. Known for her strategic insight and influential expertise, she is sought after for her ability to develop impactful communication strategies that align with client goals and industry trends.
In addition to her work at MRU, Jamie actively contributes to her field as a mentor to emerging professionals and frequently speaks on topics in communications and marketing. She is a board member of the Calgary chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators and is passionate about advancing industry standards.
Outside of work, Jamie is a pilates enthusiast who enjoys time in the mountains and reconnecting with family and friends back home in Toronto.
