In her career as an acute care inpatient mental health nurse, Christine had the opportunity to help people identify, stabilize, manage, and learn new ways of coping and recovery while navigating obstacles in their health management. During this time, Christine also started working with students, igniting her passion in teaching. In 2005, Christine became a full time faculty member at Mount Royal University, School of Nursing and Midwifery.
Being fully aware that multiple ways of knowing and connection to nature is paramount in her own personal growth, work with others, and her role as a nursing educator, Christine completed her Shamanic Coaching and Practitioner Certification with the Institute of Shamanic Medicine with Gael Carter and Marilyn Keffer (whose teaching lineage goes back to Estcheemah, Mayan Zero Chief); Level III Reiki Master training with Sandra Richardson and Char Niemi (whose teaching lineage goes back to Usui, Japanese Reiki Master); and becoming a Facilitated Equine Experiential Learning (FEEL) certified practitioner. Christine uses the pronouns she/her/hers.
