Teaching at MRU since 1997, Helena has primarily focused her teaching upon the nursing theory/clinical practice areas of mental health, addiction, and primary care. Her research interests has included topics regarding the professional development of students working within Indigenous communities. Pursuit of writing interests has focused upon both professional and non-professional audiences.
While valuing currency in practice, Helena continues professional engagement in community healthcare as both an RN and NP in mental health & addiction settings.
