Definitely not the Ivory Tower is meant to be an accessible exploration of research and big ideas. It is a celebration of MRU research and the impact it has on the community and the wider world.
Meet the Host - Natalie Meisner
Natalie Meisner is a Professor, a Playwright, Poet, a Mom and now a Podcast host (not necessarily always in that order). She was born on the Mi’kma’ki / South Shore of Nova Scotia where she began her curious life by reading, with wild abandon, all books that came through in the town bookmobile. She has seven full length books in various genres to her name, was Calgary / Mohkinstsis' 5th Poet Laureate and teaches creative writing at MRU where she loves helping other writers find their voice.
Meisner brings year's of writing and stage performance to a new medium as she steps behind the microphone. With Definitely Not the Ivory Tower, Meisner hopes to share some insight into the world of research with listeners, while also having some fun in the process.
