Drive to campus in a more sustainable manner! To support the shift to an electric vehicle future, Mount Royal University has provided EV stations on campus.
In 2022, we installed our first electric vehicle charging stations on campus. These FLO Charging Stations are located at Riddell Library and Learning Centre's surface parking lot.
FLO Charging Stations cost $1.00/hr, plus applicable MRU parking fees. Parking fees are paid separately.
Equipped with Level II rapid charge stations (220v), each FLO Charging Station accommodates two vehicles. To learn how to use a FLO Charging Station, please view their how-to document.

How to Charge your Vehicle
- Park on campus: Drive your car to one of the FLO charging spaces located on campus. There are charging stations available in Lot 6A and in the Riddell Library & Learning Centre Parkade.
- Pay for parking: You must have a permit for the lot, or pay the day rate via QR Code, Park and Pay Terminal or through the HotSpot app.
- Pay for charging: Register for a free FLO account through their website or download the FLO app available on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
Rules and Regulations
- All active EV charging stalls are available for students, employees, and guests.
- Parking spaces with active EV stations are reserved for Electric Vehicle(s) charging only.
- Parking/charging time is limited to a 3 hours.
- Parking is prohibited at non-functioning stations.
