Under the leadership of the Provost and Vice-President, Academic, the Division of Academic Affairs has two principal governance bodies:

• Provost's Council
• Chairs and Academic Directors Assembly

The Collective Agreement between the Board of Governors of Mount Royal University and the Mount Royal Faculty Association (MRFA) establishes two committees, chaired by the Provost and Vice-President Academic:

• Sabbatical Leave Committee (SLC)
• University Tenure and Promotion Committee (UTPC)
