I've booked an appointment, so what happens now?

In-person appointments are held in EL2100 (in the Riddell Library & Learning Centre).

What if I need to cancel?
- Cancel at least 2 hours before your appointment, or it counts as a no-show. Please give us as much notice as possible so we can serve other students.
- Use the link provided in the confirmation email to cancel.
- If you have 2 no-shows, you will be unable to book further appointments until the next semester.
What should I have ready for my appointment?
Please have your assignment instructions ready so you can share them with the Learning Strategist during the appointment.
Appointments for help with writing:
- You do not need to have a complete draft ready! We can often help more if you come at an earlier stage in the writing process (e.g., when you have a rough outline, or a couple of body paragraphs written).
- We won't edit your paper, but we can definitely help you learn how to edit your own writing more effectively!
Appointments for help with exams:
- We can discuss useful test-taking strategies for different types of exam questions (e.g., multiple choice, problem-solving, short answer, essay).
- If you are working on an exam (e.g., take-home exam), we cannot look at or provide feedback about your answers.
(Please note, a 30-minute appointment does not replace a 75-minute workshop.)
