Understanding Admission Timelines
Below you will find an overview of the admissions cycle and an explanation of most of the decision codes that applicants from high school may receive.
Application statuses can be viewed in the Future Student Portal and applicants will receive an email each time an application status has been updated with a new decision code.
Applicants can apply to two programs. Each program will be evaluated separately. We strongly recommend that applicants include a backup program on their application.
Applicants from high school are encouraged to apply during Early Admission (October 1 - February 1) of their grade 12 year. They do not need to wait until they have completed their courses before they apply. We will use self-reported grades for applicants in their grade 12 year as a basis for their competitive average for admission.
Minimum admission requirements must be completed by June 30th. Summer courses can not be used for admission.
October
October 1, 2024 - Applications Open for Fall 2025
- Applications are received and set to “NC - Application Received”
October and ongoing - Admission Evaluators review individual applications
- Applications are set to:
- “PR - Under Review” - we have all of the information (i.e. transcripts, self reported grades) we need to move forward with evaluating the application for admission
- “SR - Self Reported Grades Required” - we require either official or self-reported grade 12 grades
October 19, 2024 - Open House
November
November 1, 2024 to February 1, 2025 - Offers extended to significantly competitive applicants in descending order (ie. top applicants in November)
February
February 1, 2025 - Early Admission ends
- Applications to the Bachelor of Education - Elementary, the Bachelor of Interior Design, the Bachelor of Midwifery, and the Bachelor of Nursing close
- All high school transcripts and self-reported grades must be received for these programs by February 1, 2025
- For an application to be considered in Early Admission, all transcripts and self-reported grades must be received before February 1, 2025
February to April - Early Admission offers are sent out
February 2 to August - Ongoing Admission
- Applications are accepted for programs that remain open
- Offers will continue to be sent to qualified applicants based on available seats in each program
- Programs will close when there are enough qualified applicants to fill the program - including a waitlist
April
April 30, 2025 - All applicants that applied in early admission and have been deemed eligible for evaluation will receive one of the following significant decisions:
- AA - Final Admission (changes to "IE - Final Admit/may Register" once the non-refundable tuition deposit is paid)
- AC - Conditional Admission (changes to “IC - Conditional Admit/may Register” once the non-refundable tuition deposit is paid)
- FR - Future Review - applicant does not yet meet the competitive average range to qualify for an offer, but application remains open and will continue to be reviewed
- RS - Not Qualified - applicant does not meet minimum admission requirements
- RQ - Not Qualified - applicant does not meet the competitive average for an offer
- TL - Application/Documents Too Late - the program has closed and the applicant’s required documents were not received before the application closure date
May
May to August - Ongoing Admission continues
- Applications are accepted for programs that remain open
- Offers will continue to be sent to all applicants based on available seats in each program
- Programs will close when there are enough qualified applicants to fill the program - including a waitlist
July
July 22, 2025 to August 15, 2025 - Final Admission
- After Alberta Education transcripts are received (July 21st), all applicants who have received and accepted a conditional offer of admission (IC) will be reviewed for eligibility for final admission (SF - Final Admit/may Register)
- Applicants who do not meet their conditions will receive an “RF - Not Qualified” decision code, which closes their application
August
August 18, 2025 - Fall 2025 Tuition & Fees are due
August 29, 2025 - All applications close
- Most offers to qualified and competitive applicants have been extended - in rare circumstances, some offers may be extended to students on a waitlist past this date if last minute seats become available in the program (until September 5th, 2025)
