Post-admission program requirements
Mount Royal University partners with Synergy Gateway Inc. to provide support and clearance for the post-admission program requirements (fees apply). These requirements are non-academic certifications, courses, forms, and documents that must be completed for each year of study in your program. You are responsible for the costs associated with completing each requirement and for ensuring each requirement has been completed and submitted for review by the required deadlines.
All post-admission program requirements must remain valid and current for the duration of your program of study. You will receive a package with detailed instructions and timelines after you have been admitted to the program. Requirements include valid:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis vaccination series or booster
- Hepatitis B vaccination series
- Hepatitis B blood test (Anti-HBs)
- Standard First Aid certification
- CPR Level C certification
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certification
Complete after registering for your courses

Scholarships
- AFSA Student Award: Offered by the Alberta Funeral Service Association and open to students and recent graduates employed with an AFSA funeral home. Available to full-time and part-time students. Application deadline: January 31
- Foundation '45 Scholarships - Canada: Offered by the Funeral Service Foundation. Scholarships are awarded twice a year and are open to full and part time funeral students. Applications accepted February 15 - April 16 and September 15 - November 1.

- You are advised to order well in advance of the course start date and to allow extra time for shipping if you live outside of Calgary.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - Funeral Services Kit is available for purchase through the Cougars Campus Store for students registered in an Embalming Practicum course.
- Attend your New Student Orientation! The funeral administration team will email you the details.
