Teaching Statement:
She uses Semiotics and visual Semiotics in her teaching as she believes the learning a language involves more than grammar and syntax. It is the art of handling all the different aspects of the communication process.
A language is a living thing that changes in times and is powerful to expand the connections and possibilities of the human brain.
Learning a language requires a multi-faceted approach to it. It’s an alchemy of different skills such as speaking, listening, writing and reading. Using visual tools as well as movies, commercials, billboards creates a unique approach to language immersion.
Chiara fosters a learning where collaboration, respect and appreciation for the contribution of each student is valued. She believes in the Culture of mistakes as the foundation for effective learning.
