Scholarly Interests:
Terri Baker has been teaching at Mount Royal since 2013, focusing on English and composition courses such as GNED 1401 Writing for Academic Success and ENGL 2301 Crime and Conspiracy Literature. Her primary research interests are the works of Hilary Mantel, and historical fiction in general.
She has presented her research both nationally and internationally. Her work has also been published both nationally and internationally, in print form as well as online. Terri is currently working on publishing a long version of the presentation she gave at the Hilary Mantel conference sponsored by the Huntington Library in October 2021.
Teaching Statement:
Terri prioritizes making her classroom a safe space where students can find their voices and express their opinions, thereby promoting their confidence. She will often blend multimedia in her classroom to help further engage students.
