Mount Royal University partners with the Ann and Sandy Cross Conservation Area (ASCCA), a natural area southwest of Calgary dedicated to protecting wildlife habitats and offering conservation education programs. Teacher candidates in the B.Ed program regularly visit to experience rich curricular integration possibilities.

The partnership between ASCCA and Mount Royal's Department of Education is built upon a mutual vision of facilitating experiential, purposeful learning opportunities based on community and ethical interests that focus on sustainability and supporting active and engaged citizenship which is foundational to both organizations. We are very proud that this partnership mutually benefits the educational and scientific practice of both organizations with the future possibility in the creation of a Mount Royal University Field Center that houses the Institute of Experiential Education within the building of a new Educational Center at ASCCA.
