Meryl is a retired Certified Athletic Therapist and non-physician expert in knee injuries. She is passionate about Athletic Therapy and completed her MEd with a capstone project on Video Technology as a Teaching and Learning Strategy in Athletic Therapy. Additionally, she was an integral part of developing athletic therapy services to faculty, staff, students, and public at the MRU clinic. In addition to teaching at MRU, she is the clinic coordinator for the University of Calgary Sport Medicine Centre Specialty Clinics including the Acute Knee Injury Clinic, Acute Sport Injury Clinic, and the Shoulder Clinic. Meryl is also an entrepreneur and owns MSK Masterclass where she teaches in-person and online continuing education courses on acute knee injuries for allied health professionals in the field of sport medicine. She has a passion for an active, healthy lifestyle and has participated in a variety of athletic endeavours over the years. She is a former equestrian athlete, fitness/figure competitor, and two-time Ironman Canada finisher.
