Welcome to the Department of Health and Physical Education
Your commitment to living a healthy lifestyle is anything but ordinary, so why should your degree be?
Mount Royal's Bachelor of Health and Physical Education (BHPE) responds to the growing need for community health and physical activity champions in Western Canada and beyond.
The BHPE focuses on creating experienced and well-rounded graduates prepared to become strong health and wellness advocates in the community or pursue further education at a graduate or professional school level.
Bachelor of Health and Physical Education
With a fresh approach to health and physical education that is unique to Western Canada, Mount Royal's distinctive four-year program emphasizes a comprehensive approach to health and physical education while providing students with valuable hands-on experiential learning opportunities in and outside the classroom.
You will have the opportunity to specialize in one of four majors, with each major offering current outcome-focused approaches that emphasize collaboration and leadership skills needed to champion the movement in your community.
Note: All the majors take a common first year of study. This allows you to enter the program and discover firsthand where your health and physical education passions lie. Courses will provide experiential learning in addition to theoretical knowledge.
Athletic Therapy, Post Bachelor's Certificate
Help athletes reach their top potential by providing the therapy needed to prepare and repair their bodies.
The Athletic Therapy Post Bachelor's Certificate, delivered over two academic years, is for those who have a degree in a related field such as kinesiology, physical education, sports medicine, exercise science or other related fields. The skills and knowledge you will acquire in this program will help expand your career and education options.
