Instructor Profile:
My educational background is in ore deposit hard rock geology with interests in field mapping, petrography, geochemistry, geochronology, and historical geology. While completing both undergraduate and graduate school, I was a teaching assistant in the geology department and had the opportunity to aid with lab components of first year through fourth year courses. I have been an active team member of greenfield and brownfield, single to multi-rig, mineral exploration projects across numerous deposit types (including VMS, uranium, and orogenic gold) in remote locations within Canada. I also have operations experience in the petroleum industry where I’ve drilled hundreds of horizontal wells in both local and international basins. I am an analytical, problem solving, lifelong learner with a desire to teach others. I believe that practical application of geological concepts in the lab setting is not only important for learning but can also be fun and approachable for students.
Education:
B.Sc. (Hons), Memorial University of Newfoundland, 2009
M.Sc., Memorial University of Newfoundland, 2013
