Campus Frameworks

Suicide Prevention Strategic Framework

Mount Royal University released its Suicide Prevention Strategic Framework in June 2021. As a signatory of the Okanagan Charter (2015), we recognize the vital role of health and well-being in a thriving campus community.

Suicide is a significant cause of premature death in Canada, requiring focused, systems-based approaches. Building on MRU’s strong history of mental health support, this framework provides a comprehensive roadmap to enhance suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention initiatives for students, faculty, staff, management, and exempt employees.

Canadian Campus Wellbeing Survey (CCWS) 2024

Mount Royal University utilizes the Campus Community Wellness Survey (CCWS) to gather valuable insights into student health and well-being. This Canadian-based assessment tool is confidential and voluntary, ensuring students can share their experiences openly.

The data collected helps identify key priority areas, allowing MRU to enhance programs and initiatives that support student wellness.
