In 2019, Laura Jurgens received her PhD in Religious Studies from the Department of Classics and Religion at the University of Calgary. She previously attended St. Francis Xavier University and Saint Mary's University in Nova Scotia. Laura teaches in-person and online courses for Mount Royal University, University of Calgary, and Memorial University of Newfoundland. Her research focuses on the Protestant Reformation, Martin Luther, and women. In 2020, she published her first book titled "Martin Luther and Women: Theology and Lived Experience" with Peter Lang. Laura is also an active member of the Pacific Northwest Region of the American Academy of Religion and currently serves as co-chair of the History of Christianity and North American Religions program unit.
