Julie-Anne White is a Senior Laboratory Instructor for the Department of Sociology & Anthropology. She holds a PhD in archaeology from the University of Calgary, with a research focus on pottery in Andean funerary practices. Julie-Anne has collaborated on various archaeological projects in Canada, Ecuador and Peru. Before this role at MRU, Julie-Anne worked as an archaeologist in Cultural Resource Management and taught as a sessional instructor at the University of Calgary. At MRU, she previously taught as a contract instructor in anthropology as well as worked as Lab Coordinator/Student Advisor for the Department of Sociology & Anthropology. Julie-Anne now teaches in the laboratory for multi-component methods courses with experiential learning in both biological anthropology and archaeology. She is passionate about scholarly teaching and active learning in and out of the classroom.
