Isha is interested in understanding the various aspects of social inequality within societies as well as between societies. Her research poses the questions of how or why some societies succeed at achieving economic growth and equality simultaneously, while others fail to achieve equality even when their economies grow. She helps students comprehend how the various dimensions of inequality like class, race and gender intersect in creating the stratification system in contemporary North American societies. She enjoys teaching undergraduates, and making them aware of global stratification and inequality. Lately she has also been teaching students about the importance of economic globalization and its impact on their societies, and personal lives. Her other areas of interests are economic sociology, and social change and economic development.
