International Students - How to apply for admission

Apply early! Early admission is open from Oct. 1 to Feb 1. We encourage application during this period as some programs have a deadline of February 1 or fill up early. The application deadline for International applicants is April 1.

Although you are strongly encouraged to have your application for admission and all supporting documents at Mount Royal by February 1, all final, official high school (secondary) and post-secondary transcripts must be received at Mount Royal by May 1 to meet the deadline for international applicants applying from outside of Canada (to allow time to process your application and for you to obtain a study permit).
International students must contact all high school (secondary) and post-secondary institutions attended to request submission of their official high school and post-secondary transcript(s) directly to Mount Royal University.
Visit our English Language Proficiency Requirements to ensure you can demonstrate adequate knowledge in the areas of reading, writing, listening, and speaking in the English language to be successful at Mount Royal.
You will receive correspondence to the email address you provide on your application for admission if you are missing documentation.
Applications are open on Oct. 1 and are ongoing.
Accommodation for student residence is guaranteed for those who apply and pay their deposit by June 15 for admission to the Fall Semester.
International students are eligible for Mount Royal University entrance and in-course scholarships and nominated awards.
Application is open Oct. 1 - Mar. 1. You must apply for admission by Feb. 1 and you will need your Mount Royal student ID number to apply for awards.
Mount Royal University is a Designated Learning Institution as per Citizenship and Immigration Canada and is permitted to host international students on a study permit. A list of Mount Royal's designated learning programs can be found here. The University's DLI number is located on your visa letter.
Admission decisions will begin to be made in November or December and continue on an ongoing basis into July and August.
You can log in to your student portal to check your admission status online. Login information will be emailed to you once you apply.
You will receive an official letter by email from Mount Royal University with our admission decision.
If you are admitted to Mount Royal University, you may receive a conditional offer of admission or a final offer of admission.
Conditional offer of admission: You have one or more items (conditions) outstanding. These items will be noted on your conditional admission letter. You will not receive final admission until these conditions have been met.
Final offer of admission: You have met all admission requirements and conditions and you are fully admitted.
Visa Letter: If you are issued an offer of admission, you will also receive your visa letter with your offer of admission. You will use your official admission offer letter to apply for your VISA/Study Permit.
