Transferring research funds
Transferring funds between co-investigators
When you have a co-investigator at another institution who has expenses associated with your project, you will need to transfer funds to the co-investigator's institution. An agreement is required to document the work to be performed, authorize the transfer of funds, outline publication and ownership of intellectual property rights, and determine the budget and reporting requirements.
- Review the sponsor's terms and conditions or guidelines to ensure they allow for the transfer of funds.
- Send the completed Subgrant Request Form to orscefinance@mtroyal.ca
- ORSCE will then prepare a subgrant transfer agreement between Mount Royal University and the co-investigator's institution.
- Funds will be transferred once ORSCE receives a signed subgrant transfer agreement from the co-investigator's institution.
Transferring funds from other institutions
If you are a new researcher at MRU with funding from your previous institution, please contact the ORSCE Director at research@mtroyal.ca to discuss a plan to transfer your funds.
To assist with the transfer please provide:
- Contact details of your Research Grants officer at your previous institution
- a copy of the Notice of Award
- A copy of the approved application
- any additional documents required by your previous institution
